Anti-cuts campaigners from the University of Edinburgh took to the streets this week to protest the installation of Princess Anne as the new chancellor of the University of Edinburgh, in a demonstration dubbed 'the Party Against Privilege'.
The university found themselves embroiled in controversy after two students alleged that university security personnel and officers from Lothian and Borders Police "profiled" them based on their political beliefs and involvement in previous campus protests, subjecting them to police checks and summarily confiscating their tickets to the installation ceremony.
