A strong offensive effort and rock-solid defensive line carried the University of Edinburgh's rugby firsts to a respectable victory over the University of Manchester during last week's BUCS Premier League showdown at Peffermill.

It should perhaps have been a bigger win for the home side, who some say "stepped off the gas" in the second half after a commanding performance in the first. But the Edinburgh fifteen held their nerve to secure a respectable 18-10 victory over the visitors.
